FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What should I look for when purchasing CBD oil?

Because there are few government regulations on CBD oil, some companies are selling products with little to no CBD content, as well as adding in unwanted chemicals like heavy metals or pesticides. To make sure you are buying the highest quality CBD oil, ask the company for their testing results to see how much CBD is present.

Do your products contain THC?

Full spectrum CBD oil contains trace amounts of THC, 0.3%  or less per federal regulation. Broad Spectrum CBD oil and CBD isolate do not contain any THC.

What is the shelf life of my CBD products?

Since all CBD products are different, there is no single accurate amount of time that your CBD will last. Grover Family Farms CBD generally lasts between 12-14 months after each product is opened. However, the way you store your product is crucial to its shelf life. Products containing CBD should be stored at room temperature and out of direct sunlight. That means you should be able to take your product for at least a year before tossing it. A good habit is to write the date you opened the product on the label to help you keep track of when it will expire!

What is full spectrum CBD oil?

Full Spectrum CBD oil is an extraction that contains all of the compounds and cannabinoids found in the hemp plant and up to the allowable 0.3% THC. This form of oil offers the full benefit of the plant including the entourage effect.

What is broad spectrum CBD oil?

Broad Spectrum CBD is an oil that contains all of the compounds and cannabinoids of the hemp plant, except for THC, the psychoactive cannabinoid that naturally occurs in the plant.

What is the entourage effect?

The entourage effect refers to the beneficial effect of all the compounds in hemp (CBG, CBN, CBD, THC and more) working together as opposed to just one or two of these compounds working in isolation.

What is CBD Isolate?

CBD isolate is a product that has had all other compounds and cannabinoids completely removed and is the purest form of CBD.

What is Supercritical CO2 extraction?

For thousands of years, humankind has utilized the beneficial compounds and oils within plants. CO2 extraction is a method of capturing these oils without any toxic solvents. Supercritical CO2 extraction works by combining carbon dioxide, pressure and temperature to isolate specific compounds of the plant material for extraction. After the supercritical CO2 has passed through the plant matter and extracted the desired compounds, it is easily recovered and recycled for use in later extracting runs. What's left behind is pure, shelf-ready, high quality oil and terpenes.

Why is CO2 extraction better than other methods?

Extracting this way is also better for the environment because CO2 is a naturally occurring gas. It can be recycled, which makes this one of the most sustainable ways to produce CBD oils.  Due to the low toxicity of CO2 (unlike other extraction solvents), as well as, the inherent antiseptic properties, people working with and consuming products made this way face far fewer health risks.

Unlike other solvents such as alcohol, CO2 returns to a gas, leaving no residue, and does not change the chemical composition of the oil. This makes our process the most biologically safe, efficient and environmentally friendly method for full spectrum extraction.
